Our new magazine-style blog plugs a gap

Creative Boom

Our new online magazine, which aims to support, celebrate and inspire the UK’s creative industries, has attracted 1,000 visitors a day after just three months of going live.

Creative Boom was launched in July 2009 by Boomerang PR’s founder, Katy Cowan, who first came up with the idea after speaking to other creative businesses on Twitter.

Creative Boom includes news on a range of creative sectors including arts and crafts; design; digital; marketing and PR; music; performing arts; animation; fashion; photography and film. It also has regular features, competitions, prize giveaways and video interviews.

The magazine has been a huge success, something that we never anticipated. It has changed so much over the past three months and lots of new features have been introduced to continue to help others. We’ve basically encouraged regular feedback from our huge number of followers and developed the site accordingly.

Creative Boom now has over 400 members signed up to receive regular updates and Katy has a team of voluntary contributors who help her add content to the site.

A new feature called ‘Boom TV’ has just been introduced where Katy and her contributors share their thoughts, experience and ideas on a range of different themes to offer practical and helpful advice to the website’s followers.
