In its 32nd year, New Designers continues to be the leading annual showcase of the biggest and best in emerging design talent. This year, our clients Johnson Tiles and Material Lab were yet again asked to dish out an Associate Prize to two worthy winners during the two-part event.

Johnson Tiles chose Faye Jones as its Part One winner. The Staffordshire University graduate is a designer and photographer working with mixed media and varying processes of experimentation, and her featured collection – Inconspicuous Assault – is inspired by urban and natural decay. It was this dark trend-led, monochrome colour palette, etched onto laser-cut woods that caught our client's eye.

In the meantime, Material Lab gave its Associate Prize to Amelia Frost, whose designs use a multitude of materials and processes, impressively transferring her graphic architectural drawings onto surfaces.
