We’ve just launched a new website for Alusid, the designer and manufacturer of sustainable solid surfaces and tiles. With our collaborative partners, Collective HQ and Nine Sixty, we rose to the challenge of getting the site live, ready for this year’s Surface Design Show.

During the three-day event in London, Alusid was set to launch Silicastone Tints – a new collection of handmade glazed wall tiles, featuring a palette of six organic colours. It was crucial that its new website was ready to take sample orders from the start of the Show. Thankfully, after a few weekend pushes, we go there.

“Boomerang did such a superb job with our new website and was very easy to work with,”said Dr Alasdair Bremner, one of the team at Alusid who came up with the idea for the range of products during a research project with Professor David Binns at the University of Central Lancashire.

“From start to finish, the team went above and beyond expectations, working round the clock to get us online in time for this year's Surface Design Show. We're very happy with the result."

Working collaboratively with Darren Clanford of Collective HQ, who acted as creative guide throughout the entire process, Alusid also appointed Manchester photographer Tim Ainsworth to help tell its story and bring its products to life.

All of Alusid’s products are made from unwanted manufacturing materials that others discard. Taking these materials, Alusid puts them through an ingenious, environmentally low-impact process to give them a new lease of life.

We designed and built Alusid’s new website and crafted the copy to help tell the story of its special new material that combines recycled glass and porcelain to create solid surfaces and tiles that are bespoke in character but also respectful of the planet. A wonderful project to be involved in. Thanks to Professor David Binns and Dr Alasdair Bremner of Alusid for being so great to work with.
